In a spectacular throwback to the iconic Nickelodeon series Zoey 101, the trailer for its follow-up, Zoey 102, has finally been released. On June 17, fans were thrilled with their first peek into the movie that promises to take them on a nostalgia trip back to the Pacific Coast Academy (PCA) glory days.
The sneak peek starts with retrospective clips of the PCA gang, swiftly transitioning to a present-day scene featuring Zoey Brooks, portrayed by Jamie Lynn Spears. She is found in a phone conversation with her best friend, Quinn Pensky (played by Erin Sanders).
Zoey confides in Quinn, “Did I mention that I received a marriage proposal on our second date? As soon as we hit 30, it seems everyone becomes obsessed with—” Quinn, however, interrupts Zoey’s flow with a significant request, “Will you be my maid of honour?”
Zoey heartily agrees, but complicated emotions soon follow her consent. Her agreement means a reunion with Chase Matthews (Sean Flynn), her high school sweetheart, at Quinn’s wedding to PCA alumnus Logan Reese (Matthew Underwood).
Zoey’s apparent reluctance leaves Quinn’s wedding party wondering about her presence at the event. Stacey Dillsen (Abby Wilde) notes with concern, “I just hope she comes. It seems she’s hung up on her high school ex, Chase. It’s quite sad, and, as far as I’m aware, she hasn’t been in a relationship since.”
Interestingly, Zoey does attend the wedding, albeit not solo. After conducting a series of pretend boyfriend auditions, she enlists the company of Hugo Hemsworth (Dean Geyer).
However, her plus-one does little to dampen the rekindling spark between Zoey and Chase, causing Zoey to question, “I keep thinking about everything I ever wanted when I was in high school, and now that I’m here, I can’t help but ask, ‘Is this it? Is this the dream?'”
As the anticipation builds for the release of Zoey 102, fans eagerly await to see if Zoey and Chase’s story will take the turn they’ve been hoping for. With the promise of nostalgic moments, wedding drama, and potential rekindled love, the movie will surely be an event to remember. Remember to set a reminder for July 27 when the tale of Zoey Brooks continues on Paramount Plus.
