Gloria Fila’s love for aeroplanes started from a tender age. Being the son of an Austrian Airlines flight attendant and airman, Fila spent numerous of her early times tagging along with her parents on their work passages. An iconic print from 1999, taken when Fila was only two times old on holiday in the Maldives, captures her deep-confirmed affection for aeronautics.
The print features her lugging a bright unheroic wallet, standing against the background of an Airbus A340 spurt, ready to return home to Vienna, Austria.
Embarking on a Different PathPost-Graduation After graduating from the council, Fila worked at a bank in Austria. Despite the comforts and security of her job, she could not help but contemplate her ingrained passion for aeronautics.
She asked herself,” Do I love aeronautics only because of my parents, or do I tête-à-tête really love it as much as they do, too? ” This question made her decide it was of” great significance” to determine if her love for aeronautics was a secondary dream or her genuine passion.
Returning to Her First Love, Aviation, One and a half times into her banking job, Fila decided to align her career path with her heart. She recalls,” I said,’ Okay, that’s it, I’m going to quit my office job.
And I’m going to eventually go for what I love,’ ” which was getting a flight attendant. In 2022, Fila qualified as an Austrian Airlines flight attendant. Working at 30,000 bases not only felt right but also fulfilled. Every day she went to work, she was grateful for being suitable to pursue her dream.
A Shot of a Dream Fulfilled As Fila began her trip as a flight attendant, the nonage print of her in front of the Airbus A340 came to mind.
The print that captured her early love for aeronautics inspired her to recreate it further than two decades latterly. With the help of her crewmates, Fila formerly again posed in front of an aeroplane at Vienna Airport, this time in her Austrian Airlines livery in front of an A320.
This recreated print is a testament to Fila’s fidelity to her passion and a festivity of fulfilling her dream of working in aeronautics.
Her family, especially her parents, were overjoyed with the recreated print, ultimately supporting her transition into aeronautics.
As Gloria Fila looks to the future, she’s not just a flight attendant serving passengers worldwide; she’s a passionate flier who turned a nonage dream into a thriving career.
