According to government reports, Mexicana de Aviación is expected to start flights by the end of the year.

The newly established Mexicana de Aviación will begin its aerial operations in December. Over time, the government has unveiled details about its structure and the services it will offer its passengers.

As part of its launch, the state airline will offer complimentary drinks for tickets purchased in September. Additionally, Mexicana’s website indicates that to mark the beginning of its operations, passengers will have the option to select their seats at no extra charge.

This airline, managed by the military, will allow travellers to check in a suitcase of up to 15 kilograms free of charge during its launch. However, hand luggage will always be permitted, including a carry-on bag and a personal item, provided they do not exceed a total of 10 kilograms. It’s worth noting that this is a service many private airlines typically charge for.

According to its website, Mexicana’s vision is to provide accessible air services for everyone, aiming to be recognized as a high-quality airline.

On another note, the government has already acquired the rights to the Mexicana brand for an amount of 407 million pesos, a sum that has already been distributed among the airline’s employees.

Mexicana is anticipated to operate around ten aircraft from the Boeing brand, specifically the 737 model with a capacity for 180 passengers. It’s relevant to mention that the prices of their tickets could be up to 20% cheaper compared to those of private airlines.

As Mexicana de Aviación prepares to take flight, there’s palpable excitement surrounding its promise of affordability and quality. This revamped airline not only aims to compete with private carriers but also strives to redefine air travel standards in Mexico. With attractive offerings and a clear vision, Mexicana could very well set a new benchmark in the nation’s aviation sector.
