In a recent modification to its Twitter Blue platform, the company has confirmed that the video file size limit for premium users has been raised from 2GB to 8 GB.

Elon Musk revealed that verified members of the microblogging platform are now authorized to upload videos up to 2 hours in length. Sharing the update on his Twitter account, Musk stated, “Twitter Blue Verified subscribers can now upload 2-hour videos (8GB)!”

US-based Tech portal TechCrunch reported that Twitter had adjusted its premium subscription service, extending the earlier video limit from one hour to two hours.

Concurrent with these changes, the company revised its Twitter Blue platform. It confirmed that premium members’ video file size limit had been raised from 2GB to 8 GB. Previously, uploading longer videos was exclusively available via the web, but with this new update, users can now do so through the iOS app. TechCrunch noted that the highest quality available for uploads remains 1080p despite these enhancements.

Following Musk’s announcement, numerous social media users inundated the comments section with their responses.

A Twitter user commented, “Twitter is the new Netflix.”

Another wrote, “So cool! thanks for makin’ this possible!”

One user humorously remarked, “Welcome to Tweetube.”

In other news, Musk recently appointed Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter, who will chiefly concentrate on business operations.

Despite acquiring Twitter for USD 44 billion last year, Musk will maintain a strong influence over the company, focusing on product design and novel technology.

He also recently shared plans for another update to Twitter, which will provide its verified users with early access to an encrypted messaging service. This update is currently exclusively available to verified users.

Twitter is making significant strides under the leadership of Elon Musk. From enabling Twitter Blue subscribers to upload longer videos to appointing a new CEO, the company is continuously innovating. The latest video limit extension and the forthcoming encrypted messaging service indicate Twitter’s commitment to enhancing its user experience, potentially shaking the social media landscape.
