Jonathan Majors, known for his role in “Creed III” and as an up-and-coming Hollywood talent, faced charges of assault and harassment.

Jonathan Majors, the actor, was detained in Manhattan on charges of assault and harassment after New York police reported a “domestic altercation.”

The 33-year-old actor was apprehended without any issues, according to authorities. The injured party, a 30-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital with minor head and neck injuries.

A statement provided by Carrie Gordon, a spokesperson for Majors, and attributed to Priya Chaudhry, the actor’s attorney, said that Majors was the “victim of a conflict with a woman he knows.” Chaudhry added that the woman had withdrawn her allegations, and video evidence and witnesses corroborated Majors’ version of events.

“Mr. Majors is completely innocent and did not assault her in any way,” the statement declared.

The New York Police Department stated that officers responded to a 911 call from an apartment near West 22nd Street and Eighth Avenue in Chelsea. The investigation revealed that the actor had engaged in a domestic altercation with a woman who claimed she had been assaulted.

The police did not immediately respond to the lawyer’s statement or additional information about the incident.

A Manhattan district attorney’s office representative said Majors had been arraigned on a complaint involving several misdemeanour charges, including assault and aggravated harassment.

A judge granted a limited protective order and ordered Majors’ release on his recognizance. His next court date is set for May 8.

Majors appeared in two advertisements for the United States Army’s “Be All You Can Be” campaign amid declining recruitment numbers.

Laura DeFrancisco, an Army spokesperson, said the two ads featuring Majors would be removed from circulation.

“Although Mr. Majors is presumed innocent until proven guilty, it is prudent to suspend our ads until the investigation into these allegations is concluded,” she stated.

Major is a rising star in Hollywood, with a series of notable performances that have positioned him as a potential Oscar contender.

In addition to co-starring in “Creed III,” released this month, he starred in “Magazine Dreams,” earning acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival. He is also becoming a significant figure in Disney’s Marvel universe.

Jonathan Majors, who has gained prominence through his roles in “Creed III” and “Magazine Dreams,” has become entangled in a legal dispute after being detained on charges of assault and harassment. As the investigation continues, the US Army has suspended its ads featuring the actor.
