Celine Dion has recently declared the termination of her “Courage World Tour” schedule until 2024, with a close source hinting that she may never resume touring. The internationally acclaimed singer is reportedly experiencing significant pain, necessitating daily physical therapy.
In a heartfelt message shared on her social media platforms, Dion expressed her profound regret to her fans. She said, “I deeply apologize for letting you all down again. I am earnestly striving to regain my strength, but the rigours of touring can be quite taxing, even under optimal health conditions. It would be unjust to keep postponing shows, and while it shatters my heart, it’s best to cancel all events until I am fully prepared to perform again. I want you all to know I’m not surrendering… and eagerly await the day I can see you again!”
Previously, Dion had been put on hold numerous concerts in December after disclosing her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome. The singer explained that this condition prevents her from performing in her usual manner.
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines the syndrome as “a rare, progressively worsening condition impacting the nervous system, specifically the brain and spinal cord.”
Dion spoke about her condition, stating, “We’re still striving to understand this uncommon condition. We now know that it’s the cause of the spasms that have been plaguing me. Regrettably, these spasms interfere with every aspect of my daily life, sometimes making walking difficult and prohibiting me from using my vocal cords to sing how I’m accustomed to.”
The singer confirmed that refunds for the cancelled concerts would be issued from their original point of purchase.
