Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are reportedly in consultations with divorce lawyers amidst increasing rumours of their separation, as several outlets report.
Sources from People and TMZ both suggest that 34-year-old Jonas has acquired the services of a divorce attorney. TMZ adds that Jonas and Turner, 27, have faced significant challenges in their relationship over the past few months.
While Turner’s representatives remained silent on the matter, Us Weekly has reached out to Jonas’ team for clarification.
Earlier this month whispers about potential issues between the couple intensified when both were observed without their wedding bands. This came shortly after the pair sold their Miami home in August.
Dedicated followers noted Jonas’ absence of his wedding ring during recent performances with the Jonas Brothers. Footage from their September 1 concert at the Minnesota State Fair revealed Jonas without his gold wedding band. However, the very next day, he was seen wearing it in an Instagram post featuring him alongside his brothers, Nick and Kevin Jonas.
The caption on the post read, “Happy Labor Day weekend everyone. This tour has been phenomenal thus far. Enjoying some family time this evening in Texas, gearing up for the major Austin show tomorrow.”
Interestingly, Turner was conspicuously missing from several of the Jonas Brothers’ The Tour concerts. She only marked her presence during the inaugural show in New York City on August 12. In contrast, on the subsequent evening, Kevin and Nick’s spouses, Danielle Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, were both present in the VIP area. Despite her absence, Joe affectionately mentioned Turner during the introduction of the song “Hesitate” and dedicated certain performances to her during concerts in St. Louis and New Orleans.
The love story between Jonas and the “Game of Thrones” star began around the end of 2016. They got engaged about a year later.
Recalling his proposal during an interview with Ryan Seacrest in January, Joe said, “Proposing was nerve-wracking. I might have been more anxious asking her father than her! Everything becomes a blur in such moments, but thankfully, it all went smoothly.”
The couple had a spontaneous wedding in Las Vegas in May 2019, right after the Billboard Music Awards, followed by a more formal ceremony in France a month later.
In February 2020, it was confirmed by Us Weekly that they were expecting their first child. Their daughter, Willa, was born in July of the same year. Their second daughter, whose name remains private, joined the family in July 2022.
