A Star-Studded Celebration for Marvel’s Mastermind

On the eve of Marvel Studios’ latest release, Deadpool & Wolverine, stars across the Marvel Cinematic Universe gathered to honor producer and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, who received the 2,785th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Among the attendees were Emma Corrin, Chris Evans, David Harbour, Kathryn Hahn, Hugh Jackman, Brie Larson, Simu Liu, Ke Huy Quan, Ryan Reynolds, Sebastian Stan, and Chris Pratt.

An Unexpected Honor

“Usually, we think it’s a place for movie stars,” Feige said. “And I’m not a movie star.” Feige, who has been admiring the Walk of Fame since childhood, expressed his pride in joining the ranks of Hollywood legends. “These are people who made an impact… I feel proud that maybe I’ll be one of those names people walk across and don’t recognize but look up and see our part in the history of Hollywood.”

A Career Beyond Dreams

Feige is among the few producers to receive a star, highlighting his significant contributions to the film industry. “It does mean a lot to me. It goes back to things you didn’t even dare dream about, yet there it is for all to see.” From Iron Man (2008) to Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), Feige’s career has made the Marvel Cinematic Universe the highest-grossing film franchise ever.

Marvel’s Creative Anchor

Ryan Reynolds praised Feige’s creativity and leadership during the ceremony before Disney’s El Capitan Theatre. “He is quite literally an anchor being in real life, and he keeps the Marvel Universe alive and well and vital. Without him, none of this works,” Reynolds said. Louis D’Esposito, Co-President of Marvel Studios, shared his experiences working with Feige. “After all this time, I can honestly say… we don’t have much in common,” D’Esposito joked, eliciting laughter from the audience. “…Even though I’ve been with him a long time, he impresses me daily.”

A Lifetime of Collaboration

Hugh Jackman, who befriended Feige during the making of 2000’s X-Men, delivered a heartfelt speech before Feige addressed the audience. “Producing is all I’ve ever really wanted to do, ever since I knew it was something a person could do,” Feige said. “And to be able to do it [with] the most talented actors and storytellers in the business is more than I could’ve ever asked for.”

Gratitude and Future Endeavors

Feige concluded his speech by celebrating his collaborators’ contributions. “I’m not up here because of anything I did alone… I had all this help along the way,” he said. “I think filmmaking is the greatest art form; it is a daily collaboration.” Reflecting on his journey, Feige remarked, “Getting a star on the Walk of Fame seemed about as likely as Disney releasing an R-rated film with Marvel characters, but here we are today. Both are happening.”

A Legacy Cemente

Kevin Feige’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a testament to his unparalleled influence on the film industry. As he continues shaping the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans and collaborators celebrate his remarkable achievements and look forward to what he will create next.
