Charlie Brooker’s critically acclaimed anthology series “Black Mirror” is set to return on Netflix in June after a three-year hiatus.

The streaming giant unveiled an eerie teaser trailer on Wednesday, giving viewers a glimpse of the diverse stories and talented cast, featuring Salma Hayek, Aaron Paul, Annie Murphy, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Michael Cera, and Rory Culkin, among others.

The upcoming Season 6 promises to be “the most unpredictable, unclassifiable, and unexpected yet” for the series.

In an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, Brooker discussed the season’s concept, emphasizing that “Black Mirror” should always showcase stories that are “entirely distinct from one another” and maintain its undefinable nature. However, he also mentioned making unique creative choices for the forthcoming episodes that diverge from the series’ previous content.

Brooker explained that he aimed to challenge himself and keep the show fresh by consciously overturning some of his fundamental assumptions. While maintaining the show’s signature tone, the new season will introduce more variety and unexpected twists than ever before.

Since its premiere on the UK’s Channel 4 in 2011, “Black Mirror” has garnered six Emmy awards.

As anticipation builds for the return of “Black Mirror,” fans can expect a thrilling new season filled with surprises, thought-provoking narratives, and a star-studded cast. With Charlie Brooker at the helm, the series will continue pushing boundaries and challenging viewers’ perceptions of society and technology.
