Following last year’s data leak hinting at a new Scooby-Doo! film with Krypto the Super-Dog, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has now unveiled the official details for “Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too!” This direct-to-home movie will drop digitally and on DVD in September, with DVDs exclusively available at Walmart in the U.S.
Although the released cast details don’t mention the Legion of Super-Heroes – previously sighted in 2022 leaked screenshots – it’s speculated this might be the same film as the one earlier rumoured to be titled “Scooby-Doo! Meets Krypto”. This film was noted for character designs reminiscent of the 2006-2007 Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes series.
Characters slated to appear in “Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too!” include Superman, Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Mercy Graves, Joker, Harley Quinn, Solomon Grundy, and Wonder Woman. Notably, Tara Strong will reprise her renowned role as Harley Quinn.
Available for purchase in the US both digitally and exclusively on DVD at Walmart, the release date is set for September 26, 2023. Meanwhile, Canadians can buy it digitally on the same date, with DVDs rolling out on October 24, 2023.
In this latest Mystery Inc. adventure, which represents the broadest DC Universe crossover yet, the Scooby gang teams up with multiple superheroes. With the DC’s Justice League mysteriously absent, a sinister phantom takes over The Hall of Justice. It falls upon Scooby and the crew, with assistance from Krypto, to crack the case and rescue the heroes.
Voice talents for this movie include Frank Welker (Scooby-Doo, Fred Jones), Matthew Lillard (Shaggy Rogers), Kate Micucci (Velma Dinkley), and Grey Delisle (Daphne Blake, Wonder Woman), among others.
Helming the project is director Cecilia Aranovich Hamilton, with a screenplay by T.K. O’Brian. Rick Morales and Jim Krieg (known for “The Death and Return of Superman”) are producing, while Sam Register is Executive Producer.
Digital copies of “Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too!” will be available through Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, and Vudu starting September 26, 2023.
