After reports of Daniel Radcliffe joining the cast of Deadpool 3, a new rumour offers insights into the film’s approach to featuring various versions of Wolverine.

Due to the ongoing Hollywood strike, the entertainment news landscape has shifted. Industry updates about superhero films have become scarce as current projects are on hold, and interviews with actors are also rare since many are participating in the strike.

While actors and writers are making a stand against studios, the situation has perhaps dampened some of the excitement for fans. Nevertheless, we’re striving to keep you engaged—explore our wishlist of Wolverine storylines that should make it to the MCU—and are sorting through the rumour mill to offer some glimpses into what might be on the horizon.

Speaking of Wolverine, recent buzz suggests that Deadpool 3 aims to include multiple Wolverine variants. Taron Egerton and Daniel Radcliffe are both rumoured to be part of this ensemble, and new speculation provides context for their roles.

Insider Daniel Richtman claims that Deadpool embarks on a quest to find the “ideal” Wolverine, encountering various versions before ultimately acknowledging that Hugh Jackman’s Logan is irreplaceable.

If this proves accurate, it’s an engaging concept, although its execution might be delayed due to the ongoing strike.

In a recent interview, Deadpool 3’s director Shawn Levy mentioned, “Like much of our industry, we’re on hold—we were mid-production. The chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is, spoiler alert, every bit as spectacular as we’d hoped.”

Returning for this third installment alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are franchise regulars like Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter).

Emma Corrin is rumoured to portray Cassandra Nova, with Matthew Macfadyen likely to appear as a TVA agent named Paradox. Jennifer Garner is confirmed to reprise her role as Elektra, and numerous other high-profile actors are also speculated to join the cast.

Shawn Levy has assured fans that Deadpool 3 will honour the legacy of 20th Century Fox’s Marvel films, making it a unique addition to the MCU. Not only will it be Marvel Studios’ first R-rated film, but it will also feature characters from the Fox era, including those from X-Men and Fantastic Four movies.

Levy stated, “We have a rich history with these characters, who began in the Fox-Marvel universe. We’re embracing that history as part of our storytelling.”

While cameo appearances from other Marvel characters are heavily rumoured, the only confirmed role apart from Reynolds and Jackman is Jennifer Garner’s Elektra.

Returning cast members Morena Baccarin, Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Rob Delaney, and Brianna Hildebrand will be joined by newcomers Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.

As for the plot, details are sparse, but it’s believed that Wade Wilson and Wolverine find themselves in the MCU, with ties to Loki’s TVA and other integral elements of Phase 5 and beyond.

While the Hollywood strike may have put a temporary pause on Deadpool 3’s production, the rumours and leaks keep fans’ excitement at a peak. The film promises to be a groundbreaking entry into the MCU, honouring its Fox legacy while forging new ground. With a cast that blends franchise veterans and notable newcomers, plus tantalizing hints of cameos from across the Marvel universe, Deadpool 3 seems poised to be a major milestone for superhero cinema. As the lines between different Marvel eras and universes continue to blur, all eyes will be on this threequel to see how it shapes the future of the MCU.
