Thomas Bangalter, one-half of the former electronic music duo Daft Punk, has confirmed plans to release a solo album and has somewhat revealed his face.

The French electronic music sensation, which disbanded in 2021, was renowned for its futuristic helmet-clad personas during performances and was rarely seen without its iconic headgear.

Bangalter’s forthcoming album, “Mythologies,” is orchestral. He has shared a lifelike profile sketch on Instagram to accompany the announcement, with the caption, “Portrait de Thomas Bangalter pour son nouveau disque Mythologies.”

The album, boasting tracks such as “Premiers Mouvements,” “Le Catch,” “Thalestris,” “Les Gémeaux I,” “Les Amazones,” and “L’Arrivée d’Alexandre,” initially came to fruition as a commission by choreographer Angelin Preljocaj for a ballet also called “Mythologies.”

“Mythologies” was launched on April 7.

Daft Punk had a momentous performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards, during which they clinched the Album of the Year accolade for their hit collection “Random Access Memories.”

Bangalter’s shift to a solo career post-Daft Punk appears to take on a new direction musically with the orchestral approach of “Mythologies.” Fans worldwide highly anticipate this venture, given his reputation for pioneering electronic music alongside his former Daft Punk bandmate, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.

As Bangalter embarks on his solo journey, fans are eager to see if he will continue to push the boundaries of music as he did with Daft Punk. Only time will tell, but one thing is sure: Thomas Bangalter’s solo career is promising.
