Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Take That are set to headline a diverse roster of performers at a concert commemorating King Charles’ coronation next month, which organizers describe as a celebration of a new era in British history.
The official coronation of Charles, who ascended to the throne following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, last September, will be held at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.
On a subsequent day, the focus will shift to Windsor Castle, situated west of London, where 20,000 members of the public and special guests will be present for the concert. The event will also be broadcast on television and radio.

Additional performers include opera star Andrea Bocelli, singer-songwriter Freya Ridings, Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, and classical-soul composer Alexis Ffrench.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced the list of performers and will produce and broadcast the event.
‘The Coronation Choir,’ a group composed of community choirs and amateur singers from across Britain, will also perform, accompanied by ‘The Virtual Choir,’ which includes singers from the Commonwealth.
The BBC stated that the concert’s centrepiece would illuminate iconic locations across the United Kingdom using projections, lasers, drone displays, and lighting.
