The Tragic Incident
During the Tour de Suisse’s fifth stage, approximately 200 kilometers into the race, Gino Mäder collided with American rider Magnus Sheffield at high speed.

Prompt action from organizers resulted in him being resuscitated and immediately airlifted to Chur’s hospital.
Despite medical efforts and an intense battle to recover from his severe injuries, Gino Mäder sadly succumbed to the consequences of the crash on June 16. Bahrain Victorious, deeply shaken by this tragic accident, expressed their grief in a poignant statement, extending condolences to Mäder’s family and loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time.
