In an unusual turn of events, a river comprised of 2.2 million liters of high-quality DOC red wine suitable for consumption inundated the streets of São Lourenço do Bairro, located in Anadia.
As reported by Diário de Coimbra, on the morning of September 10th, a torrent of red wine cascaded down Rua de Cima after two large tanks ruptured at the Destilaria Levira facility. Astonishingly, this unexpected deluge of red wine occurred without causing any injuries, though it resulted in the flooding of both the roadway and at least one nearby cellar.
